Boy and Bird

The ‘telescopic’ effect spotlights the affection between the bird handler (my son Christian) and his pet cockatiel. In this painting Christian gazes over to Rex the cockatiel on his shoulder and the latter awaits a scratch and pat. There is synergy between the boy and bird, the persimmon orange cheek spot of the cockatiel reflecting on the boy’s cheek and the boy’s wispy hair inverse in direction to the bird’s crest. The indoor plants adds to the tranquil scene.
